Exercise as we Age

As we get older, we become unsure of how to approach exercise. In our younger years we would simply jump on a treadmill and run for a couple of miles, or throw some heavy weights on a bar and knock out a set of chest presses. After a while though, these exercises put too much stress on our body, and we need to focus on exercises that will strengthen muscle tone and improve endurance without putting excess strain on our bodies.

This is the approach that Avamere Olympic Rehab of Sequim takes. For our long-term guests, we provide a personalized exercise regime that will help keep seniors vibrant and active. Those participating in our short-term rehabilitation program will be utilizing intense, focused exercise therapy that will help heal and restore muscle function and strength.

Staying active isn't just good for the body – it also improves the mind. We have a better outlook on life when we're on a regular fitness schedule, and we are often in better moods as well. When we are comfortable with our physical abilities we become more independent and happy.
